PRECISEU: Advancing personalised medicine in Europe: unlocking cooperation and funding opportunities
As part of a luncheon on April 10 at the German Biotechnology Days (DBT) in Heidelberg, the European project PRECISEU will be presented, focusing on fostering innovation in personalised medicine.
PRECISEU aims to connect European innovation ecosystems to advance personalised healthcare. By exchanging best practices and scaling deep-tech innovations - particularly in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) and health data - the project seeks to drive a more efficient implementation of personalised medicine across Europe.

Insights into PRECISEU and the Baden-Württemberg Healthcare Hub
Dr. Claudia Luther from BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg, the state agency for the healthcare industry in Baden-Württemberg, will open the event by introducing PRECISEU and highlighting the strengths of Baden-Württemberg as a healthcare hub and partner of the project. The region is known for its dynamic research landscape, strong collaboration between academia and industry, and high innovation potential in personalised medicine. PRECISEU builds on these strengths, aiming to enhance regional and interregional collaboration in personalised medicine.
PRECISEU Best Practice Recognition
Daniela Weber from bioRN Life Science Cluster, will introduce the Best Practice Recognition concept. This initiative identifies and showcases outstanding innovations in ATMP and health data utilization across four categories:
• IMPACT: Science-industry partnerships driving significant healthcare improvements.
• INNOVATION: SMEs and startups revolutionizing patient care with advanced medical devices.
• CULTURE: Organizations excelling in patient engagement and public outreach.
• EXCELLENCE: Leaders in health data accessibility, security, and inclusivity.
The goal is to promote proven methods, demonstrate their scalability, and strengthen knowledge transfer across Europe.
Applications open in March 2025, finalists will be announced in August 2025 and winners in September 2025 at the General Assembly in Vilnius.
Joint Interregional Projects
Montse Daban from biocat, healthcare agency of Catalonia and coordinator of the project, will present the opportunity of four Joint Interregional Projects within PRECISEU. PRECISEU provides targeted financial support for innovative research and development projects that create cross-regional value. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and research institutions, in particular, benefit from these funding opportunities to further develop their innovative approaches and strengthen cross-border collaborations.
