Biotech.Future.RLP. Dynamics and Opportunities Beyond Lab Space
Rhineland-Palatinate is a biotechnology region where research, industry, and government work closely together to drive innovation. The state, with Mainz as its capital, is recognized not only for its strengths in basic and applied biotechnology research, established and emerging companies and growing infrastructure, but also for its thriving biotech ecosystem. This dynamic network creates an ideal environment for biotechnology research, start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and international collaborations. A dynamic biotech hub has developed, providing ideal conditions for researchers, start-ups, and companies to grow and innovate. In this session, Dr. Andreas Schneider and Dr. Janis Stiefel will share their insights into Rhineland-Palatinate’s and Mainz’s biotech ecosystem. |

Dr. Janis Stiefel, a researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Microtechnology and Microsystems (IMM) and co-lead of the Center for Single-Cell Technologies LZ-EZT, has been embedded in the Rhineland-Palatinate biotech landscape for years. Dr. Andreas Schneider, a chemist and researcher at the Institute for Biotechnology and Drug Research (IBWF), recently moved to Mainz and is founding his own start-up.
Together, they will discuss their experiences, the region’s dynamic development, and the opportunities of the biotechnology ecosystem from different perspectives.
The session will be moderated by Jan Uphoff (biomindz).
